Our program serves a diverse group of individuals aged 15 and older, including those with special needs, varying risk levels of offending, and diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. We aim to explore the relationship between traumatic experiences, gun violence, and recidivism, while providing services to violence and crime victims. Over a 3-year period, 300 participants will engage with STEM, business sustainability, and innovative video gaming practices, learning lifelong employable technology skills applicable to real-life careers in the Esports industry.
Central to our approach is a trauma-informed and mentoring curriculum based on SAMHSA's six principles of trauma-informed care. Participants will undergo a 12-week program to understand the nature and impact of trauma, explore healing, and develop life skills for future success. Our program integrates Esports, STEM, and video gaming to empower participants, break down barriers, and provide tools for personal and professional growth. With dedicated staff including an Esports Gaming Job Coach and Social Worker/Case Manager, we aim to create a supportive environment that fosters learning, healing, and opportunity.
